Effective decision-making processes with digital transformation

At Aromsa, we do not limit the digital transformation process to technological innovations alone, but approach it from a strategic, cultural and organizational perspective in a systematic and holistic manner. Digitalization is a corporate priority at Aromsa. We make innovative investments through comprehensive R&D activities and continuously develops its products according to customer needs.

In this context, we are working on increasing operational efficiency, providing effective reporting, developing data-based decision-making processes, enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction, strengthening technological infrastructure, cyber security and system continuity with Industry 4.0 and new technologies in our digital transformation journey.

Our work on migrating Office applications to the cloud to ensure secure and effective access to data, thus ensuring access to applications from all devices within a secure and corporate framework, was completed during the reporting period.

The focus of our digitalization strategy is to actively leverage the data generated through technological investments for increasing our profitability and efficiency, and to make digital transformation sustainable within the company culture.

The goals we have set in line with our digitalization strategy:

  • Digitalizing manual business processes to track productivity instantly and create smart targets.
  • Providing access to the required information with instant and transparent data within a minimum amount of time, enabling actions to be taken in time and in a digital environment.
  • Contributing to our sustainable growth, business continuity and occupational safety through technology.
  • Establishing data-based decision-making mechanisms with smart data, contributing to the efficiency and profitability of our Company, and creating forecasting models that are close to reality as much as possible.

At Aromsa, we aim to maximize operational efficiency and sustainable production and to establish a decision-making culture that is driven by data rather than experience by digitizing all our processes, from production to sales and supply to quality, with an integrated data infrastructure and by using AI-assisted analysis.

We have prepared our short and long-term project plans in detail in alignment with Aromsa’s digital transformation strategy and goals. We plan to commission MES, APS, SCM, LIMS and PLM tools between 2025 and 2028.

Investments that Strengthen Our Systems Against Cybersecurity Threats

We aim to minimize our risks with the applications and software put in place against cyber threats that increase with digitalization. Some of the activities performed during the reporting period are listed below.

Switch to Android RF:

After the production of Windows handheld terminals was discontinued, we gradually switched to Android handheld terminals and supported widespread adoption of these devices. We went live with an Android handheld terminal management and security app.

WLC (Wireless Lan Controller):

In line with technological requirements, we have provided enhanced security/sustainability by switching to a new WLC (Wireless Local Area Network Controller), which allows us to centrally manage our company’s wireless networks.

Thanks to WLC;

  • We have increased network security by controlling all wireless access points from a single location,
  • We can optimize the configuration and performance of access points,
  • We can manage and monitor users’ wireless connections.

Logging Software and Correlation Software:

Logs of all servers and some applications are recorded in real time and anomalies are monitored through various correlations.

Instant Disaster Replication Application:

We contributed to our business continuity by commissioning an instant replication software that allows critical servers to be restored in real time (within 3-5 seconds) instead of the disaster replication application that replicated servers to data centre environments at daily intervals.

The Instant Disaster Replication Application works specifically on virtual machines (VMs) and continuously copies changes in data, instead of taking snapshots. We minimize data loss and ensure that our systems are operational again in a very short time by enabling rapid data recovery in the event of a possible hardware failure, data loss or disaster.

Backup Software:

We have commissioned new backup software to increase manageability of backup processes and improve backup security and stability.

Attack Simulation Software:

We have started to simulate cyber attacks occurring around the world in real time on both client and server sides with approximately 10 servers installed in our own local area.

Vulnerability Scanning Software:

We have commissioned Vulnerability Scanning Software to detect security vulnerabilities in our computer systems, network and applications. Thanks to the software, we are able to scan our servers and clients periodically, report security vulnerabilities, and evaluate recommendations for eliminating detected vulnerabilities. We effectively manage the risk of our systems being compromised by unauthorized access or malicious attempts.

Employee-focused digitalization and operational efficiency

A New Generation Approach to Occupational Health and Safety with Digitalization: Intenseye

We are constantly improving our occupational health and safety practices in order to provide the highest level of protection for the health and safety of our employees. In this context, we have commissioned the AI-assisted Intenseye OHS platform. Intenseye works with our camera systems to detect unsafe situations and behaviours on the job site in real time. The system analyses many critical OHS indicators, from use of personal protective equipment to equipment safety, enabling us to proactively respond to potential risks.

With our next-generation AI-assisted approach, we have taken an important step towards the ‘Zero Accident Goal’ and directly contributed to the ‘Employee Health and Safety’ and ‘Digitalization in Management Systems’ categories of our sustainability strategy.

We Strengthen Employee Safety with Smart Security Technologies

We continue to work with the Forklift and Pedestrian Safety System to prevent risks arising from vehicle-pedestrian interactions in the workplace. This system allows us to monitor employee safety in our internal logistics operations continuously and in real-time with AI and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Trio Mobile system: detects when forklifts and pedestrians are dangerously close to each other and provides audible and visual warnings. The system helps prevent accidents by detecting potential collisions in advance, supporting our proactive safety management approach.

This system is both a part of our responsible employer approach that prioritizes the safety of our employees and the digital supporter of our ‘Zero Accident’ vision. It also enables operational sustainability and data-based risk management practices in business processes.

We are expanding the reach of our educational programs by moving them to the digital platform.

In line with our digitalization vision, we have moved our OHS training activities to the digital environment for our office employees. Thus, we have both modernized our training processes and improved existing awareness about occupational health and safety issues.

Thanks to the migration of training programs to the digital environment:

  • Training can be accessed anytime and anywhere,
  • We plan our training so that our employees can access it at times that suit their work schedules.
  • We reinforce our approach to reducing paper consumption and carbon footprint by using digital contents instead of traditional classroom materials.
  • We monitor training attendance and success rates instantly through the system and make continuous improvements by identifying areas for development.

In 2024, we provided a total of 1,452 hours of basic OHS training to 121 office employees through the platform.

We Enable Internal Communication with Our Digital Platform: Renewed Aromsa.Net

On the path to digitalization, we have renewed our Aromsa.Net internal communication platform to make internal communications faster and more effective. As part of the renewal project, we offered a digital solution to enhance the employee experience, making it easier for our employees to thank each other, celebrate each other, and access motivational contents. The platform makes a difference, especially for our blue-collar employees, in accessing internal company information. With the renewal project carried out in 2024, we have defined the Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Administrative Affairs, OHS, Quality and Information and Documentation Centre. Thus, we have strengthened internal communications by ensuring that all our employees are instantly informed of developments within the organization. We have defined an ‘admin’ user for the platform. In our communication messages, we refer to the platform as ‘Aromsa.Net’ and use it as the main channel through which we interact directly with our employees. We publish content such as birthday celebrations, anniversary celebrations, important company announcements related to our employees through this channel.

  • We reduce the need for manual observation and minimize human errors,
  • We accelerate our decision-making processes with data-driven mechanisms,
  • We strengthen the OHS culture.

We Are Increasing Our Operational Efficiency with Digital Applications: E-Transformation Project

With this project, which was started during the reporting period, we have transitioned to e-transformation systems that will be continuously adapted to the Revenue Administration (GİB) systems in accordance with our legal obligations. E-invoice, e-archive, e-delivery note and e-ledger applications have been moved to their new interface.

We Are Enriching Customer Experience with Data and Analyses from Digital Systems: CRM

We use CRM and SAP CRM-Fiori solutions to effectively manage, analyse and improve our relationships with customers. CRM increases our capacity to respond more quickly to customer demands and produce flexible solutions by enabling us to track and maintain information about our current and potential customers.

HANA Digital Transformation Project

SAP software is a large-scale enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that provides global standard business applications and contributes significantly to organizations’ profitable business operations and the harmonious performance of their business processes. It offers an environment where the processes of all business units can be managed end-to-end within the same platform. As part of the data environment created by the processes of all business units, a large amount of data is kept in the SAP ERP system. This collection of data contributes to the digitalization of organizations through the features provided by the SAP system that adapt to technological developments. Due to digitalization, the SAP system updates itself on these platforms, constantly adapting and renewing itself by using the power of advanced technology, enabling companies’ business processes to benefit from these features in areas such as AI, advanced learning, and analytics.

S/4HANA system is a powerful ERP platform developed by SAP to adapt to the digital age with its features and innovations. Organizations using the S/4HANA system gain the capability to increase their efficiency by taking their business processes to the next level. In addition, they also have advantages such as advanced forecasting, integrated workflows, real-time data management and automation, simplified data structures, and user-friendly Fiori screens.

We have successfully completed the transition from our SAP R/3 system, which served as the basic platform for our business processes since 2012 and which we customized over time to meet our needs, to S/4HANA Rise, i.e. SAP’s next-generation smart ERP platform in 2025. Before this strategic transition, we thoroughly analysed all our business processes and created a roadmap that would provide the most efficient way to integrate them with the capabilities offered by the S/4HANA Rise platform. The work on the Hana project was carried out during the reporting period and was successfully completed in 2025. As per our digitalization vision, we included improvements that would support operational excellence and innovation within the scope of our project. Throughout the project, we organized comprehensive training for our business units on the innovations brought by the new system and effectively managed the technology adaptation process. We have put this comprehensive transformation project, which initially began during the reporting period, into live use as planned and on schedule.

Another important innovation that stands out within the scope of the Hana project is the AI project which was carried out through the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). We have optimized the ‘selection of suitable products’ process, one of the critical processes of our R&D department, by using AI functionality. This solution, which we developed through two successful iterations and testing cycles, directly enhances our innovation capacity.

Aromsa Corporate Archive Digitization and Storage Project (Digital Archive Project)

We carry our corporate memory into the future by digitizing our archives. We are transferring our physical archives to the digital environment as part of a project launched on October 16, 2024 in collaboration with Moreum. With this initiative, we index documents that need to be digitized and move them to our corporate portal, thereby providing instant, secure, and easy access to information.

This project supports our sustainability and efficiency goals while also enabling our employees to use their valuable time more effectively.
