As Aromsa, we shared our critical views on the future of our industry and its sustainability journey at the Sustainable Food Summits we attended from 2022 to 2024.
In 2022, Murat Yasa, our General Manager, answered questions at the panel “The Transformation Journey of the Food Industry.” We stated that we did not stop our capacity increase investments even during the pandemic. In order to ensure sustainability in production, we emphasized that we have backup operations for both our employees and our production lines. We stated that we do not compromise on our holistic service approach to respond to increasing demands with quality and uninterrupted production. We explained that we manage process management by ensuring the continuity of raw material stocks, establishing long-term cooperation with our suppliers and taking the right position.
In 2023, Melis Yasa, our Deputy General Manager and Second-Generation Representative, elaborated on our circular economy efforts in the panel “Sustainable Innovation: Steering the Future of Food” panel, detailing our circular economy efforts. As a result of our R&D activities that we increase every year, we explained how we contribute to the circular economy by utilizing food waste (tea, coffee, tomato pulp, citrus peel, etc.) as raw materials in different sectors. Stating that we care about the transition to a circular economy model that rejects the “take, use, throw away” approach, we stated that we have been researching substances that can be included in the cycle since our R&D process and that we prioritize local procurement. We expressed our belief that these efforts will strengthen inter-sectoral cooperation.
